Red Bull Racing motorsport advisory Helmut Marko suggested Red Bull's strength remains intact despite controversy surrounding the whole team because of Christian Horner.
During the first race of 2024 - the Bahrain Grand Prix, Red Bull proved that the team prepared very well for the season. There is probably no better way to establish dominance than taking one in the first race.
The team from Milton Keynes achieved a fantastic result despite the problems and uncertainty around their team principal, Christian Horner, who has been investigated for "inappropriate behavior."
While he was cleared of all accusations before the first practice session, the controversy around him intensified further after the anonymous email that was supposed to include a link to a Drive with "evidence" allegedly used in his investigation.
The authenticity of the photos in the email can't be verified, and the team principal refused to comment on this "anonymous speculation" as he repeated he had undergone a "thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister."
Commenting on the weekend with the turmoil surrounding the team principal of the Austrian team, Helmut Marko said, as reported by Sky Germany:
"It wasn't pleasant, but we concentrated on the sport, and thank God, that worked out perfectly."
Red Bull couldn't have hoped for a better start to the season. However, if there are some internal unresolved problems within the team, it might cause problems further down the road.
Max Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen, stated that there is tension within the team and that it is in danger of being torn apart if the 50-year-old doesn't resign. Marko, on the other hand, assumes the team remains unaffected,
"We saw today how the team showed an incredible performance. The strategy, the pit stops - everything worked. We assume that our strength and cohesion will remain intact."
