Eddie Jordan suggested on a recent episode of his podcast that Alex Albon has great potential and might be a great surprise if he got another chance to race alongside Max Verstappen.

Alex Albon has raced alongside Max Verstappen before, and the direct comparison between the two drivers suggested he was far off from the Dutchman's supreme pace.

However, that was in the years 2019- 2020, and these were Albon's first and second seasons in F1. As he described it, he wasn't ready for the challenge.

It sounds hard to believe, but even though Verstappen is a year younger than the Thai driver, 2019 was already his fifth season in the sport, and he had much more experience.

Albon showed incredible improvement over the course of the last two seasons in Williams, and even though he was driving for one of the slowest teams on the grid, his progress was recognized by team principals of the remaining teams.

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner stated the Williams driver became a "hot property" again after an impressive 2023 season, during which he lifted Williams into seventh place in the Championship.

Former owner of an F1 team, Eddie Jordan suggested in recent episode of Formula For Success podcast he really likes the 27-year-old driver:

"I have a real soft spot for Albon. I just think that given the right situations I think he could really, really be mustard."

Jordan mentioned he would like to see Albon back in Red Bull. That might be possible as Perez's contract expires at the end of the season 2024.

"I would like to see at some stage that he be given the chance alongside Max, because I think he might be a big surprise."

On the other hand, Daniel Ricciardo is believed to be at the top of the list of potential replacement drivers for Sergio Perez at this moment.

Could Albon find himself a spot in one of the top teams? McLaren and Mercedes have no interest in new drivers at the moment, so the only two remaining teams are Aston Martin and Ferrari. Could you imagine the 27-year-old in one of these two teams?
