Max Verstappen has been dominating F1 in the past two seasons, and after yet another win, his team principal,
Christian Horner, called his qualities "inhuman."
On the other hand, his
Red Bull teammate,
Sergio Perez, ended a streak that saw every race winning team in 2024 complete a one-two, as the Mexican driver finished only third.
Still, Christian Horner, who is the team principal of the Austrian team, admitted to Sky Sports that it was also a partially unlucky result, as Perez didn't benefit from the safety car, compared to some of his rivals.
"He's been on fantastic form all weekend. But the team as well have been outstanding this weekend. To win the sprint, to get the front row, the pole position and the front row lockout for the race and then a 1-3 in the race, I felt we were slightly unlucky with a safety car, but that's the way it goes sometimes with Checo."
After assessing the team's performance, the 50-year-old continued to heap praise on the currently leading driver of the
2024 F1 World Drivers' Championship, praising him for all of his qualities.
"But Max has just been, he's on another planet at the moment. His form is absolutely fantastic. He has the ability to understand the tyres, what they need, when they need to be pushed, when they need to be saved."
On top of that, Horner also believes that what the Dutch driver manages to do with the car is almost "unhuman," and the Brit is also happy to be part of a team that is writing history.
"And he's just got this incredible racing brain as well. It's almost inhuman what he's capable of. But it's a pleasure to work with and he is writing history."
