Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc "can't wait to be out on track" for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix at Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
The Ferrari team seems to be hoping for a good weekend in Las Vegas. Both performance engineer Jock Clear, and Carlos Sainz already mentioned the track should suit the Ferrari car.
The Las Vegas Strip circuit is a street circuit that was literally designed with one goal, and that was to make F1 cars race down Las Vegas Boulevard (the strip).
Charles Leclerc mentioned in an interview for Formula 1 ahead of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix that he loves street circuits and, therefore, can't wait to test this new addition to the Formula One calendar.
"Yeah, I love street tracks. So first of all, I can't wait to be out on the track tomorrow and to try this new street track."
All F1 teams with their drivers will try the new circuit for the first time during the Practice One session on Thursday, which might prove to be tricky as Leclerc reveals they did not have enough data for simulations.
"I have had quite a few laps on the simulator, but the amount of data are limited for now because we haven't done any real laps yet."
The Monegasque driver said he really enjoyed the track and confirmed the words of the Ferrari engineer and his teammate saying the track should suit Ferrari.
"But the ones I did virtually I enjoyed, so I hope that it will fit our car as well, which on paper should fit a bit more than the last few races, which I hope will give us a great result coming Sunday."
The circuit's layout has received some criticism from F1 experts and drivers. The Ferrari driver revealed he thinks it looks like "a pig turned around" at first glance.

"It's nicer than what I thought when I looked the first time at the layout, it looks like a pig turned around. Doesn't look great at first, but then when you drive it, it's actually quite interesting."
