Former F1 driver Timo Glock said in a recent interview Scuderia
Ferrari "needs to raise the level" following too many technical and strategic issues.
Scuderia Ferrari team has built a bad reputation over the course of the last two seasons for having created the worst strategies for their drivers.
There just always seems to be something that goes wrong during a weekend for the Ferrari team. As quoted by
racingnews365.com, Timo Glock said:
"In Brazil, Leclerc was again a main story because of the fact he didn't make the start due to the hydraulic problem and subsequent crash. That just can't happen at a top team."
Leclerc crashed his car during the formation lap due to hydraulics and engine problems. Glock contrasted the Ferrari situation to the
Red Bull Racing team, which won 19 out of 20 races of the season so far.
"If you compare it to Red Bull, they don't have problems on a technical level, and that is exactly what is going wrong with Ferrari."
Red Bull with
Max Verstappen have been praised by multiple F1 experts for being insanely consistent all season. Ferrari, on the other hand, seems to encounter some issues every single race, according to Glock:
"If they don't make a wrong strategic choice, they have a mechanical problem or a driver makes a mistake. That means Ferrari remains inconsistent because of some circuits, they do have the speed to really compete."
"Max is performing at a top level, and it is incredibly clear that he is grabbing multiple records, that also puts Red Bull in a strong position strategically, as he can extend a stint by maybe five to eight laps."
While Ferrari is the only team besides Red Bull that managed to win a race this season, the team needs to improve their car on every single level going into 2024 according to Glock:
"The rest find themselves in a predicament, and Ferrari needs to raise the level and understand how they can improve the car towards next year on every level."
