Former F1 driver Timo Glock praised Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen in his recent interview.
Max Verstappen achieved his record-breaking 17th win in a single season last weekend in Brazil and is on the way to getting the 18th in Las Vegas and 19th in Abu Dhabi.
The Flying Dutchman raises the bar with every single race he finishes and makes drivers desperate as they drive an amazing race without mistake but still cannot get close to beating Verstappen.
The Red Bull Racing team built an amazing car, created perfect race strategies, and did not make a single mistake, but it seems like it would not be so dominant without Verstappen. Timo Glock told PlanetF1:
"Max is, to me, pretty much outstanding. I never thought he would raise the level again, in the year. Last year was already impressive."
In 2022, Verstappen broke the record for the most wins in a single season when he won 15 out of 22 races. Even the Dutchman himself mentioned he didn't expect to break that record this season.
"But, this year, I think he just made another step which you sort of can’t believe how dominant he was this year, in every aspect."
The 2023 F1 season presented drivers with many challenges for example rain-affected race in Zandvoort or a super physical race in Qatar, but it seems like nothing could stop Verstappen from finishing first.
"If it is free practice, if it is qualifying, every time – it doesn’t matter what conditions they are in. He doesn’t make any mistakes, he makes the right calls to his engineer with his team."
The 2023 season might be the most dominant season that we see in a long time. Even though multiple F1 fans don't like it, Red Bull's perfect execution race to race has to be appreciated. Glock added:
"If the car is bad, he still makes the most of it and still wins the races in the end. It’s just very impressive. The whole team is super impressive because you can see the consistency. There is no technical problem on the car, every pitstop is spot on."
