Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly recently gave insight into his relationship with his teammate Esteban Ocon, saying the two don't spend much time together.

Pierre Gasly left AlphaTauri at the end of 2022 for a seat in Alpine next to Esteban Ocon. Many F1 fans were curious how the dynamics between the two would play out as the two Frenchmen are not exactly friends.

Ocon has also had a couple of heated relationships with his teammates in the past, for example, current Red Bull driver Sergio Perez and current Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso.

Being the most recent guest on F1's Beyond the Grid Podcast, Gasly shared he knew joining the Alpine team to work alongside Ocon "would not be easy."

"We have different personalities; we’re just two different types of people, but ultimately I think we’ve been working really well. I think we understood the responsibility."

Gasly explained in the podcast that both drivers keep it completely professional, and once they enter the race track, they work together to achieve the best results for their team.

"We don't spend much time together. But when we get to the track, then we are at work. We are mature, responsible and we are delivering…"

Gasly used to have an amazing "bromance" relationship with his former teammate Yuki Tsunoda, so the current dynamics are a bit different for the number ten driver.

While the two Alpine drivers don't like spending time together when they are off-track, Gasly says it is fine for him.

"In terms of a working relationship, it's very formal between us, but that's all I can ask because at the end of the day, I just want to be competitive. I know Esteban won't invite me for dinner, but I'm fine with that."

In terms of the Constructors' Championship, the two drivers can't really achieve better results with Alpine this season. The team is in kind of a no man's land in sixth place 80 points ahead of Williams and 153 points behind Aston Martin.
