Daniel Ricciardo will return to the F1 grid in his AlphaTauri at the 2023 United States Grand Prix as the driver confirmed himself.
At the start of the 2023 Formula One season, it seemed that fans wouldn't get to see the Australian, who is one of the most loved drivers on the grid, as he was serving only as the third driver for Red Bull Racing.
However, the unexpected development of the situation in AlphaTauri and Nyck De Vries' departure from the team meant that Ricciardo got to participate in the 2023 F1 season, but he managed to complete only two races before a disaster struck.
The Honey Badger crashed during the Free Practice ahead of the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, suffering a broken metacarpal as a result, and having to undergo a surgery that forced him out of action for over a month.
But ahead of the 2023 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, as reported by The Athletic, Ricciardo should return to his seat and complete his first race since the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix, in which he finished 16th.
During the Australian's absence, Liam Lawson showed great promise, and in the months of Sergio Perez's struggles, Ricciardo was even rumoured to replace him at Red Bull Racing, with the New Zealander driver, who replaced him, getting a permanent seat at AlphaTauri.
Yet, those seem to be only rumours for now, and the Australian focuses only on the upcoming weekend, which will be only his third full weekend in 2023 after he didn't complete the one at the Circuit Zandvoort.
