Max Verstappen's Red Bull and Mercedes had some tensions a few years ago, but that could be forgotten, according to the Dutch driver.
The Dutch driver has always been considered as one of the biggest talents in F1, and while he showed it during his early years in the sport already, Verstappen fully showed his potential.
He challenged the seven-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, who was going for his eighth World Championship, and thanks to his performance throughout the season, as well as his sensational, controversial, and infamous 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix win, Verstappen won his first World Drivers' Championship.
However, the whole season was really heated between the two teams, given the dynamic of the fight for the title, and it's something that hasn't been fully forgotten until now but could be "forgiven and forgotten" should the Dutch driver consider Mercedes as his future team.
In recent weeks, his future has often been discussed after Verstappen suggested that he could leave the team amid a turbulent period in Red Bull, and Toto Wolff was the man who showed the most interest.
The Mercedes team principal often speaks highly about Verstappen, and the Dutch driver is aware of the team's interest, but he currently stays committed to Red Bull, the team he is contractually tied to until 2028.
However, speaking to Limburger recently, the 26-year-old admitted that if he received an interesting offer from the German team, their previous differences could be forgotten.
Still, he reiterated that he's currently a Red Bull driver, and since it's the fastest team on the F1 grid, he's not interested in leaving it either.

"I would like to say a little more, yes, haha. But that can all be forgiven and forgotten. That's true on both sides. But that doesn't mean I think I should be driving somewhere else right now. In addition, Mercedes does not have the fastest car at the moment. That really is the Red Bull."
