Max Verstappen previewed the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix as he prepares for race weekend, where he can seal his Championship title.
Red Bull Racing F1 driver Max Verstappen comes to Las Vegas with a comfortable
62-point lead ahead of
Lando Norris in the Drivers' Championship.
The previous race - the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix was one of the best performances in Verstappen's career, and he started by reflecting on the weekend in Brazil:
"Brazil was an incredible race for us and a really special moment for myself and the team. It was great to see us back to the form we were before. The team did an amazing job and we are hoping to continue this into the next few races."
The triple World Champion will have a chance to score his fourth title in Las Vegas, which would be the right place to celebrate it. In order to secure the fourth Championship, the Dutchman needs to leave Las Vegas with at least a 58-point lead.
This means that Verstappen needs to either, of course,
finish ahead of Norris or a maximum of
4 points behind. In 2023, the
27-year-old won the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix and he will be looking to repeat this success. He continued:
"Of course, Vegas is the start of the final triple header of the year so this is the final push for everyone."
"We performed well here last year and it is a really fast circuit, with long straights and a lot of opportunities to overtake and go racing."
"Once again, the temperatures look quite low, so it will be about managing the tires. We are taking each race as it comes and are looking forward to the final races of the season."
While the Drivers' Championship seems to be more or less in Max Verstappen's pocket, Red Bull still fights the super close battle in the Constructors' Championship, so it will be very important for Verstappen to keep performing until the end of the season regardless of whether he has already won his title.
