Max Verstappen is having an incredible few F1 seasons, and that's why he keeps breaking one records after another.
Last year, the Dutch driver became the first-ever driver to win ten consecutive races in Formula One, and this year,
he can already beat that feat in Japan, as he started the season on a seven-race winning streak.
With
his victory in Bahrain, the three-time World Champion extended his winning streak to eight races already, but there are many streaks that the 26-year-old has running at the moment, and he extended all of them thanks to his win at the 2024
Bahrain Grand Prix.
Verstappen qualified on the pole position at the
Bahrain International Circuit, and after that, he led in every single lap of the first race of the season. As a result, he recorded his 55th career win, but he also extended his points total earned throughout his career.
Since joining Formula One in 2015, the Dutch driver has already collected 2612.5, and stunningly, 1030 of those points came in consecutive races.
After
winning the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen became only the second driver ever to collect more than 1000 points consecutively, as his streak started back in 2022 at the
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
At the time, there was only one driver ahead of him, and that's his main rival,
Lewis Hamilton, who collected 1008 points in a row in his
Mercedes, between 2018
British Grand Prix and 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, before he was forced to miss the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix.
By winning the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix, Verstappen overtook his rival, taking his consecutive points total to 1030 points, and with the current Red Bull's dominance, it's hard to imagine the streak would end anytime soon.
However, the same could have been said about Hamilton, and yet, an unpredictable force stopped him from having a larger streak.
