Former F1 team owner Giancarlo Minardi came with negative news with all non-Red Bull fans as, according to his reports, RB20 is supposed to be even better.
Red Bull's 2023 car - RB19, will go down in history as one of the most successful cars in Formula One, as it allowed Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez to win 21 out of 22 races this season.
While all nine remaining teams struggled with oscillating performances of their cars from circuit to circuit, RB19 seemed to perform on every single track, no matter the conditions.
It seems like Red Bull has built the perfect car, and there, the team can't really upgrade it to be much faster, but the triple World Champion recently shared he still would like to improve a few aspects of the car.
Moreover, the team's principal revealed his team did not make too significant changes to the car between 2022 and 2023 which meant many parts were exactly the same.
Former owner of the Minardi F1 team, Giancarlo Minardi, was recently asked by Gazzetta dello Sport whether he thinks Red Bull would be less dominant in 2024 as he replied:
"Everyone says yes that they will be. But I would wait a little bit to say that. They have an advantage that, at this moment, I think is difficult to bridge."
Red Bull went into the winter break with two advantages. The first was that no team could still match the race pace of Red Bull cars. The second one was that Red Bull could focus on developing next year's car earlier than its rivals.
Moreover, Minardi suggested he didn't think we have seen Verstappen unleash the full potential of RB19 in 2023, and according to his contacts, next year's car should be even faster.
"Because analyzing the 2023 races well, I've gotten the idea that Verstappen has never shown us the best of his ability. And that doesn't give us much hope. And then, from England, I get reports that their 2024 car is even better."
