Only 48 days remain until the lights go out for the first race of the 2024 season in Bahrain, so we have prepared the top three bold predictions for the upcoming season.
Bold Prediction # 1: Yuki Tsunoda Will Achieve His First Podium
Hear us out...
AlphaTauri made great progress towards the end of the season, with the Italian team jumping from the dead last place in the Championship up to eighth.
The team almost overtook
Williams and matched the speeds of teams in the top five in a few of the last races. AlphaTauri also plans to collaborate more closely with
Red Bull so they are definitely a team to look out for going into 2024.
Yuki Tsunoda showed incredible improvement over the course of his three seasons with AlphaTauri, mainly in 2023. Even Daniel Ricciardo wasn't able to really outperform the Japanese driver.
AlphaTauri will most likely not be one of the top 3 teams, but as we've seen in 2023, even a driver from the sixth team on the grid can achieve podium, and we believe Yuki Tsunoda could take the chance of his opportunity once it presents itself.
Bold Prediction #2: Charles Leclerc Will Achieve At Least 10 Pole Positions
Does ten pole positions sound like a lot? It is, indeed. In 2023, the driver with the most pole positions was the Championship winner
Max Verstappen (12).
However,
Ferrari was slower than Red Bull and
Charles Leclerc still managed to score five positions last year. Even if Ferrari doesn't match the pace of Red Bull this year, it is generally expected they will get closer to the team from Milton Keynes.
Being considered the qualifying specialist and
maybe even the fastest driver on the grid at the moment, Charles Leclerc could put his Ferrari on pole at least in 10 out of 24 races.
Bold Prediction #3: Lando Norris Will Win At Least Three Races
Lando Norris equaled Nick Heidfeld's unfortunate record in 2023 for the most podiums achieved without a single win (13). However,
he believes that is about to change in 2024.
In 2023, the British driver finished in second place six times! What the 24-year-old lacks at the moment is a bit more pace in his car.
McLaren has already managed to make one incredible step forward in development throughout the most recent season, and there is a good chance the team will get closer to Red Bull.
With Norris's speed and consistency, he might achieve his first win next year... And when that happens, the "breaking the barrier" effect might kick in.
The British driver will realize he can actually do it, and a lot of pressure will fall off his shoulders, which can only make him faster and more dangerous for his rivals. Therefore, we suggest Lando Norris might get his first three wins this year.
