Red Bull Racing Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey asserted he is currently happy in his team and has no reason to walk away.

Adrien Newey is considered one of the best CTOs in the history of Formula One, and any principal on the grid would love to have him design their cars.

When Haas team principal Guenther Steiner was asked which person from the paddock, including drivers, he would like if he could pick any one person for free, he said Newey.

Newey has been with the Red Bull Racing team since 2006, so effectively, almost ever since the inception of the team. When Red Bull entered the sport of F1, many didn't take them seriously, but the CTO saw it as a challenge.

The 65-year-old was asked by motorsport.com whether he still enjoys working with the team from Milton Keynes, and he replied:

Absolutely. When I joined Williams and McLaren, then they were two great teams that had won races and championships way before I ever arrived, so there was very little required on the infrastructure side, it was really just hopefully just trying to bring a bit on the design side.

Newey was already very successful before coming to Red Bull, and he made a sort of career risk, but the Brit wanted to challenge himself.

"Whereas, and that’s really why I joined Red Bull, it was a bit of a career risk at the time, but I just wanted that sort of involvement again of being involved with the development of the team right at the start."

Newey joined Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, who have been with the team ever since 2005, and all three of them together built Red Bull into the dominant team it is today. A team that won 21 out of 22 races in 2023.

"In that sense, having been involved in the start with Christian and Helmut [Marko], how we developed the team, then why would I want to walk away from that?"

The 65-year-old said the Scuderia Ferrari team tried to get him onboard already three times in his career. Everything might have been different had he joined the Italian team, but it seems the Brit has no such plans.
