Mercedes driver and seven-time F1 World Champion
Lewis Hamilton identified the next greatest triumph he wants to achieve.
Lewis Hamilton has achieved incredible success throughout his career. As of October 5, 2023, Hamilton is a holder of numerous records. The Brit has won the most races (103), achieved the most podiums (196), and scored the most pole positions (196) in the history of Formula One.
In 2022,
Mercedes failed to build a title-contending car, and Hamilton has not been able to get first place for 38 consecutive races ever since his last victory during the 2021
Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The seven-time World Champion has won a race in every single season of his career up until 2022.
While Hamilton achieved multiple podiums during the 2023 season, he can't really match the superb pace of
Max Verstappen in the
Red Bull car, who has been dominant all throughout the season. On the other hand, Hamilton seems to be confident in his ability to make it back to the top of the podium. In his recent interview for
Blick, he said:
"We'll be coming back. We can do it. The next step to the top podium will come. And it will probably be my greatest triumph in my career."
Mercedes team has been clear they are not in Formula One to race in second place. The team has been working tirelessly ever since the beginning of the 2022 season to catch up to superior Red Bull. Hamilton remains positive and believes in his team's ability to make a car that could challenge Red Bull next season.
"I hope that the amount of data we have collected so far this year will have an impact on the new car. That is the hope of the entire Mercedes team in both factories. We all have to always believe in our goals. And never give up."
