Charles Leclerc reacted to his newly announced extension of the contract with the Italian team.
Charles Leclerc has been part of the Ferrari F1 team for 5 years, ever since the season 2019, and will remain with the team for at least two more years.
While the length of the Monegasque's deal with Ferrari wasn't announced, it is understood he signed a multi-year contract.
Previous rumors suggested his new contract could last as far as until the end of the season 2029, but that hasn't officially been confirmed.
In terms of how he feels about the extension of his collaboration with the Prancing Horse, Charles Leclerc said in a video posted on
Ferrari's official website:
"I feel good; I feel happy. This is the place where I want to be. This dream of being part of this team started when I was 3,5 years old."
The five-time Grand Prix winner admitted he went through some good but also "very difficult" times with the team. Now, he aims for a better future.
"Of course, the target is to do even better in the future. We've had very good days with Ferrari in the past. We've had other very difficult days, but we've grown together, and now we are continuing the story."
Leclerc said during the most recent season he was planning to stay with Ferrari. His primary dream was to win the Championship with the Italian team and now that he prolonged his contract he has more time to do so.
"My target is obviously to bring Ferrari back to the top. To win the World Championship with Ferrari is my ultimate dream, and I'll do absolutely everything in order for this to happen."
