Former F1 driver and current brand ambassador for the Aston Martin F1 team Pedro De La Rosa said Las Vegas Strip Circuit should be an easy track.
Las Vegas Grand Prix is a new addition to the 2023 Formula One calendar and will mark the 1100th race in the sport's history.
While the weekend itself is expected to be one of the best shows, some drivers like Max Verstappen shared concerns about the racing side of the weekend after looking at the circuit layout.
Las Vegas Strip Circuit was designed around one main goal, and that was to have Formula One cars race down Las Vegas Boulevard (the strip). It will contain 17 turns and 2 DRS zones.
The weekend will be the Inaugural weekend for this track and it will be the first time for every single driver on the grid drivers on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
The new combination of the new circuit and tight schedules associated with the weekend will present a big challenge for every driver. Pedro De La Rosa told the F1 Nation podcast:
"It's intense for everyone. But really, it's not an issue because there's many things that are for the drivers easy in Las Vegas."
One of the main concerns in relation to the race itself has been the low temperatures. On the other hand, De La Rosa thinks the temperatures might actually help the drivers:
"The temperature will be helpful. Dehydration levels will be very low or non-existent, the cooler it is the easier it is for the driver, the more oxygen there is in the air."
The track will be dominated by multiple long straights, giving drivers a lot of breathing room (literally). De La Rosa explained:
"So basically your pulse rate becomes lower, and there are long straights in Las Vegas. Every long straight means that you take a breath, you have time for a drink. You don't need to stress yourself for a few seconds."
The Aston Martin ambassador concluded saying: "So it is very easy. I think it will be an easy track for the race drivers."
