Charles Leclerc raged after the end of the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix as he suggested his teammate Carlos Sainz didn't respect the team agreements.
A drama between the two Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, emerged when the Monegasque's team radios went viral following the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix (where Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive title).
Following his second stop, Leclerc came out on the track just ahead of his Spanish teammate and his engineer said on the team radio that Sainz was told not to overtake.
However, the 30-year-old took his first chance to overtake Leclerc right on the next straight, taking advantage of the fact that the 27-year-old had colder tires. The Spaniard then went on to finish third, while Leclerc stayed in P4.
It is not clear whether there was anything else that happened, but Leclerc was clearly not happy, as he raged on the ream radio right after the Grand Prix.
"Yeah, I did my job, but being nice f***s me over all the fu****g time, all the fu*****g time. It's not even being nice. It's just being respectful. I know I need to shut up, but at one point it's always the same, so.. Oh, my fu*****g god!"
Speaking to the media afterward, Charles Leclerc suggested that his teammate went against the agreements made ahead of the race and, more crucially, that he won't play the team game from now on.
"I'm not happy [Carlos], but I won't go into details. Why? Because we talk about these things before the race, and I'm always the only one who respects these agreements. From now on, I will only think about myself."
When the departing Ferrari driver - Carlos Sainz, was asked about what happened, he refused to discuss it with the media:
"We have decided not to talk [about this] with the media, we will discuss with Charles what happened between us."
"But we don't need to clarify, these are things between us. I never turn on the radio and I don't talk to the media because it's not a nice thing to do and it's not necessary."
