Yuki Tsunoda talked about his team's progress during Friday's launch of VCARB 01 on February 9th.
Visa Cash App RB just launched their 2024 challenger, and it seems promising for all the team's fans. Both Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda asserted high expectations for the season as they felt their team made significant progress.
The CEO of RB, Peter Bayer, stated his team plans to take advantage of their close relationship with Red Bull going into 2024. Yuki Tsunoda suggested this approach brought fruit in terms of development progress. According to Formule1.nl, he said:
"Red Bull was dominant last year, we can benefit from the collaboration. Exactly how much remains to be seen, but the prospects are good as far as I'm concerned. The knowledge, the possibilities; it may well provide us with a few extra tenths."
Daniel Ricciardo seemed very bullish on the progress of the team, whose best finish last season was seventh place in
Mexico.
The Honey Badger asserted that RB should aim for consistent top-five finishes this season. Tsunoda continued:
"Who knows, I would like more. In the second half of last season, things went a lot better than before, and I have also made a lot of progress in 2023 compared to a year earlier. So let's continue in the right direction."
AlphaTauri made a significant step forward towards the end of 2023, which already was a bit of a warning for their rivals. Big expectations might still be destroyed on track, but Tsunoda anticipates a "great year."
"Maybe that takes some adjustment time, so we also have to be patient in the first few races. But it could be a great year."
Who knows, maybe if RB actually makes significant progress to the point where the team starts hitting consistent top-five finishes, we might start hearing complaints from multiple teams.
