Formula 1 and IndyCar champion Mario Andretti praised Max Verstappen after he secured his fourth drivers' championship title in Las Vegas.

After securing his fourth consecutive championship title at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Max Verstappen received praise from many fans, pundits, former F1 drivers, and world champions like Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Alain Prost, and most recently - Mario Andretti.

Only six drivers in the history of F1 managed to score four or more drivers' titles, and the 27-year-old Red Bull Racing driver is now one of them.

Alain Prost, who is also one of the six drivers, suggested that he couldn't find any weakness or mistake in how Verstappen was driving, and Andretti pretty much agrees, saying that the Dutchman won the Championship in a car that wasn't supposed to win the Championship.

"He sure did not disappoint. I mean, he didn't have it very easy by any means. You could see that as a driver, he made the difference, no question, even when it's compared to his teammate, unfortunately."
"But fortunately for him, he was able to extract the maximum that could be extracted out of the equipment at the time. And he just, he did it. He did it. And kind of gave him credit where it's due."
"He's something special. A special, special talent that doesn't come along very often. So, yes, it's very fitting. And I'm happy for him because, like I said, he earned every moment of it."

Mario Andretti will be a part of the board of directors for the 11th F1 team that will be joining the grid starting from the season 2026 - Cadillac.

The American team hasn't yet singed a driver that will drive for them. When asked whether the four-time World Champion would be the ideal choice, Andretti responded: "Yes!".
