Fred Vasseur explained what he expects the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton to bring to Ferrari in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton made a decision to sign a new "multi-year" contract with Ferrari (starting from 2025) ahead of the season 2024.

The significance of this contract showed right after the announcement when the value of Ferrari on the stock market jumped by about 4 billion dollars. But the team's goal wasn't to raise the probably only to raise value on the stock market.

The main goal is to compete for and win the Championship. How can the 39-year-old driver help them with that? The team principal of the Ferrari F1 team, Fred Vasseur, told Sky Sports.

"What he will bring is that he’s the only seven-time champion on the grid today, he will come not only with the speed in the car and the technical approach but he will bring a different vision of the team, it’s important for me to have a mix of culture."

The British driver suggested he looked forward to helping the Italian team with diversity, as they "have a lot of work to do." Vasseru continued:

"He will come with this experience and for sure it's an added value and we'll take advantage. It's always an advantage to know the guys in the team and have the relationship."

Lewis Hamilton is also a big name in the sport, and when he joins Scuderia, it suggests the team is on to something. It might also inspire other big engineers to join the team to bring the glory back to Ferrari.

For example, it was suggested that the chief technical officer at Red Bull, Adrian Newey, might want to join the Italian team. If that happened, it would be a big win for Ferrari. The team principal added:

"You build up a different relationship when you have a driver who is 18 than when you're a world champion, and I think it's probably an advantage."
