Nico de Jong, CEO of Max Verstappen's company Verstappen.com, discussed possible company moves after the Dutchman's F1 retirement.
Max Verstappen is one of the most popular sportsmen on the planet at the moment. As he won his third consecutive title in a row, he is becoming more and more popular.
Verstappen.com, which is a company centered around Max Verstappen, currently has a marketing team consisting of 35 people, according to formule1.nl.
What is unique about this company is that it is dependent on one person, Max Verstappen. If there is no Verstappen, there is no business. Nico de Jong explained the company, therefore, has to prepare for the 26-year-old's F1 retirement:
"What makes this company unique is that it revolves around one person, who will sooner or later stop racing. We now have Verstappen.com Racing, but there is more. You can look at the future in different ways. In any case, it is not our ambition to close the doors here when Max stops racing."
The triple World Champion lately shared the mission of the GT3 team that he already started working on, and it currently seems that is what he wants to pursue after his F1 career.
"If Verstappen.com Racing soon has its own GT3 racing team, then it is logical that we will join in. But if Max says, I want to continue in fashion, then that is also an option."
While the fashion brand might suit some other drivers like Lewis Hamilton or Pierre Gasly, de Jong said everything is possible for Verstappen, and the important thing is that the company is already thinking about possible moves.
"That sounds more logical to me with men like Lewis Hamilton, Yuki Tsunoda or Pierre Gasly than with Max. Because Max is purely into racing, that's what he lives for. The most logical thing, as I now estimate, is that Verstappen.com Racing will soon take off."
