Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen recently discussed possibly teaming up with Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso for the Le Mans 24 Hours race.

Many F1 fans dream about seeing a team-up of Formula One World Champions like Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen. The two have great chemistry off-track, and Verstappen recently revealed there might be an opportunity for the team-up.

Speaking at the annual Honda Thanks Day at Motegi, the Dutchman mentioned he would like to do a 24-hour Of Le Mans race. He said:

"Le Mans I definitely would like to do. I’ve been there already, when my Dad used to race in Le Mans. The atmosphere is amazing, so many people. Driving through the night, sunrise, I think it’s really cool."

Apparently, the triple World Champion already talked to Alonso (who already won the Le Mans race) about the opportunity and the Spanish Matador is in if Verstappen wants to do it.

"I've been speaking to Fernando about it. He said he would only want to do it with me again. So, I was like 'wow, that would be really cool!'"

The Red Bull Racing driver hinted earlier this year he might not stay in Formula One forever as he would love to do endurance racing and set up his own team as well.

The Dutchman said he might consider leaving F1 after his contract with Red Bull expires in 2028. However, until then, he would not want to do anything else and needs to focus purely on Formula One.

"Not really. I don't think I want to do that, because you want to focus on one thing fully. And when you start combining stuff and you can only do one race, you're not really well prepared."

On the other hand, Fernando Alonso is already 42, and in 2028, he will be 47, which is pretty old to be racing at such a competitive level.

Nevertheless, Verstappen is confident in the double F1 World Champion and his driving abilities as he added: "I mean, if Fernando keeps racing, I'm sure he'll be as competitive at 50 as he is now!"
