Carlos Sainz revealed six Formula One drivers that he often watches from onboard cameras to learn and improve his own driving.
Every single Formula One driver dreams of becoming the World Champion one day. But the competition is so high they need to keep improving every race.
Each of the 20 drivers is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and to improve, they also often look to others to learn from each other.
Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz recently revealed he watches onboard quite a few drivers on the grid, but mainly the current World Champion. He told DAZN.
"I think that there are always pilots who do different things on the onboards. If I tell you the truth, I always obviously choose Max Verstappen because he is the one who usually goes the fastest to try to get closer to what he is doing, but I also watch Lando Norris a lot."
Carlos Sainz has been Norris's first-ever teammate in Formula One and has worked together with the Brit for two seasons, so he knows the qualities of the number four driver.
"I know how good he is, the different things he usually does on each circuit."
He also shared that he looks at George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and the remaining two World Champions on the grid, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. he con
"Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are also two great drivers. Obviously, also Charles Leclerc's because he is my teammate. And then also Fernando Alonso, although especially his performances in the race "
Teammates have access to a lot more data about each other's driving styles on every single circuit, so Sainz is pretty fortunate to have a teammate like Leclerc, as the Monegasque driver is by many considered the fastest driver in F1 currently.
Do you think the World Champions like Hamilton, Verstappen, or Alonso still look at how other drivers race around particular circuits similar to the Ferrari F1 driver?
