Michael Schumacher's former Scuderia Ferrari team principal, Jean Todt, recently gave an update on the condition of the seven-time World Champion.
Michael Schumacher is considered one of the greatest drivers ever in Formula One and it is hard to believe it has been 10 years since his tragic skiing accident in French Alps.
The F1 driver was put into a medically induced coma for a couple of months following his accident and managed to wake up. However, all the details about his health have been held private since then.
Rumors suggested the Michael Schumacher the World has known was gone. Schumacher family's long-term lawyer, Felix Damm, recently explained why the health details haven't been released to the public.
The family apparently considered giving a final health update but decided against it as they thought it would only spark more never-stopping and intrusive media attention.
The seven-time World Champion's former team principal and a close friend, Jean Todt, recently told
L'Equipe he does not miss Schumacher as he is still with us, only a bit different.
"Michael (Schumacher) is here, so I don't miss him, but he is not the Michael of before. He is different and he is wonderful manner assisted by his wife and children, who protect him."
Todt revealed he has been one of the very few privileged people who have been let by the family to meet with Schumi a couple of times.
However, he said the seven-time World Champion the World has known is gone and it is a different Mcihael Schumacher now. He added:
"His life has changed, and I am privileged to be able to share moments with him from time to time. There is nothing more to say. Unfortunately, fate struck ten years ago, and he is no longer the Michael we know from Formula 1."
