According to a recent report, Red Bull Racing was confident that the triple World Champion Max Verstappen wouldn't leave amid rumors about a potential team change to Mercedes.

Ever since Max Verstappen warned Red Bull that he would follow if Helmut Marko were to leave the team, the rumors about his potential exit have been full flow.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher recently confirmed that he knows the triple World Champion has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave.

Moreover, he said he believed the chances of the 26-year-old going to Mercedes were "great." Another former F1 driver, Johny Herbert, said he heard the deal between Silver Arrows and the Dutchman was "getting quite close."

Then, Mercedes's team principal, Toto Wolff, was asked about the situation. He said Verstappen was number one on his list and that he is currently waiting for him to decide within the upcoming weeks.

Clearly, there has been something going on in the background, and perhaps the Dutchman wasn't so happy with the tense situation inside the Red Bull Racing F1 team.

However, according to a recent report by Mirror.co.uk, the Milton Keynes team is now fairly confident that the triple World Champion is going nowhere.

"Mirror Sport understands Red Bull are satisfied that there is no risk of their star driver walking away any time soon."
"Verstappen told reporters in Australia last weekend that it is his "intention" to see out his current deal, which runs until 2028. And Red Bull consider that to be a definitive statement that ends the matter."

The Dutchman currently holds the keys to the 2024 driver market. Wolff confirmed that his decision regarding the second seat in Mercedes currently depends on the 26-year-old.

If Verstappen decided to switch teams, the silly season would become even wilder, with two potential seats up for grabs in Red Bull.
