David Coulthard suggested
Sergio Perez can win in 2024 despite his unsuccessful run in the last eight Grand Prix races.
Many fans agree that the 2024 season already exceeded everyone's expectations. What looked like another year of
Red Bull dominance at the start of the season very quickly turned into an equal battle between three or sometimes even four teams.
The results reflect that. There were 14 race weekends, and we've already seen seven different drivers from four different teams win a Grand Prix race.
In fact, every driver from the top four teams, except for Sergio Perez, has already won at least one race this season. The Mexican driver has been struggling in the eight races preceding the summer break.
However, the season isn't over, and the 34-year-old might still show what he has, according to David Coulthard.
RacingNews365 asked him whether there could still be more winners in 2024.
"Of course, it's possible. Checo [Sergio Perez] has been off-form of late, but he's a grand prix winner, and if he rediscovers form, then why can't he win again.
Even if that didn't happen, the former F1 driver wouldn't be surprised to see a new winner from a different team- something like
Esteban Ocon from
Alpine in 2021 or
Pierre Gasly from Alphatauri in 2020.
"I think there's going to be other guys that maybe get the lucky win. We've seen it with Alpine three years ago with [Esteban] Ocon in Hungary."
"So, there's always that sort of random race as well. But already, in terms of Formula 1 history, we've seen more winners now that we have in a long time, so we can kind of be satisfied with that."
If there was a winner from one of the teams outside of the top four, who do you think it would be?
