Fellow F1 driver Alex Albon shared his opinion on Lando Norris letting his teammate pass him during the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix due to team orders.

Lando Norris clearly would have won the 13th round of the 2024 season at Hungaroring if he had not let his teammate Oscar Piastri pass him a few laps before the end of the race.

Although the 24-year-old asserted that wasn't where he gave up the victory, it surely must have been one of the toughest calls he ever had to make during the race.

It was suggested that many other F1 drivers wouldn't have done the same thing Norris did in the end, obeying team orders. While Albon didn't say what he personally would have done, he shared his opinion when speaking to the media after the race. He said, as per RacingNews365:

"All the power to Lando. Very respectful to be able to do that. I don't think it's easy. It defies racing driver logic."

F1 is a team sport, but Norris explained after the race that drivers all have to first look out for themselves before thinking about their team. That is also what Albon meant when he said it defies racing driver logic.

"But he's a team man, and McLaren is doing the right things. They're obviously also fighting for the constructors' [championship], so they're not being stupid. They're thinking of the big picture."
"I'm not sure they're in the drivers' championship, but they are in the constructors' championship, so I understand it. Lando's going to have some more wins anyway. He doesn't need to worry."

While Norris will most probably have many more opportunities to compete for the race win this season, he has already missed out on five in a row now, as he was in a position to win every single race since the Canadian Grand Prix.

The British driver also still hopes to challenge for the title this year, and the seven points he lost by not winning this race might be crucial for him at the end of the season. Do you think he did the right thing?
