Lewis Hamilton's Formula 1 movie about a fictional 11th team called APXGP just got a release date- 25th June 2025.
The seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton is a huge fan of all movies about racing. As he said in an interview with GQ magazine, he has seen "all of them."
In recent years, a couple of great motorsport movies have been released, such as Ford vs. Ferrari, Rush, and Ferrari. After watching all these, the 39-year-old Mercedes driver said he loved them, but they could have been done better.
Hamilton owns a movie production company called Dawn Apollo Films, which is currently producing new movies about Formula 1 in exclusive collaboration with F1.
This movie has already been and still will be filmed in real-time during actual F1 Grand Prix weekends at racing venues around the world, involving all the F1 teams, their drivers, FIA, promoters, and the whole community.
This Apple Original Films’ Formula 1 movie, starring Brad Pitt, will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (who previously directed films like (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman (who produced Top Gun: Maverick and the Pirates of the Caribbean).
The name of the movie has not been announced yet, but many refer to the film by the name of the fictional 11th team about which it will be - APXGP.
"The film will see Pitt star as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his rookie team-mate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid, battling against the sport's drivers and teams."
This highly anticipated movie will be released internationally on June 25, 2025, and two days later (June 27, 2025) in North America. Warner Bros will distribute it in IMAX.
The production of the APXGP film began in 2023 and will continue this year during the British Grand Prix weekend (at Silverstone Circuit) and several other weekends.
