Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc doesn't think his future F1 teammate Lewis Hamilton will need any sort of advice from him.
Charles Leclerc has been constantly getting questions about his future teammate, Lewis Hamilton, ever since the Mercedes driver's contract with Ferrari was announced before the start of the 2024 season.
While the Monegasque driver appreciates his current teammate Carlos Sainz (who will be heading to Williams), he has been vocal about the fact that he can't wait for the arrival of the seven-time World Champion.
The Briton is statistically the most successful driver in the history of F1. One does not achieve such status by accident, and Leclerc knows he will be a challenging teammate to beat.
However, the Monegasque driver actually prefers to have strong and competitive teammates rather than a number two driver next to him. He explained to The Race:
"Since I got into Formula 1, I have been very lucky. Instead of thinking that I wish I had a number two driver as a team-mate, I have always thought it is so much better to have the best as your team-mate."
"I have had very, very fast team-mates who have pushed me forward, and with Lewis, I will learn a lot as well."
In the same interview, Leclerc also asserted that he doesn't think Lewis Hamilton has any sort of weakness, which is a big part of what makes him so strong.
While he looks forward to learning from the seven-time Champ, Leclerc doesn't think there is anything he could teach the 39-year-old. He added:
"Lewis is still incredibly fast. He is still Lewis Hamilton. So, I don't think he needs any advice from me!"
Besides learning and gaining more experience, Leclerc wants to show what he has compared to the most successful driver in the sport's history.
Can he outperform the seven-time World Champion in the same machinery? David Coulthard thinks Leclerc will be faster but expects Hamilton to achieve more victories due to his consistency. What do you think?
