Max Verstappen sometimes seems obsessed with racing, and his team can confirm that as they witness it firsthand.
The Dutch driver is now a three-time World Champion, and while he's a tremendous driver, he seems to be more obsessed with racing than any other driver.
Verstappen is often seen competing online in iRacing, and that's even during the Grand Prix weekends, minutes after the conclusion of a race, or even in the middle of the night, a day before the race.
That shows just how obsessed he is with anything related to racing. Pierre Wache, the technical director at Red Bull, recently spoke to RacingNews365, and he shed more light on how Verstappen really is.
According to the 49-year-old, the Dutch driver is never satisfied with just a win. He always wants to continue working after the race is finished, helping the team develop the car.
"Victory is not enough for him, he always wants more, just like the rest of the team. He doesn't rest after a victory so to speak, he keeps going."
As a result, Red Bull can enjoy years of dominance, which Verstappen helped to achieve. He's also the one profiting the most from it, already winning three World Drivers' Championship trophies.
But the 26-year-old Dutchman is not only a driver according to Wache. In a sense, he's also one of the team's engineers, given how much he wants to help the team to improve their car.
"He is just as good at driving the car as the driver. Also, like us, he is an engineer because he is constantly looking for opportunities to improve the car."
Verstappen will get a chance to show his qualities already in the coming days at the Japanese Grand Prix, as he'll want to forget his Australian Grand Prix campaign, which ended prematurely after he had a brake issue.
