The first red flag of the pre-season testing in Bahrain was triggered about two hours into the morning session of day two.
The morning session of the second pre-season testing in Bahrain ran smoothly for all the teams without significant issues or retirements.
Red Bull had a minor issue when
Sergio Perez's RB20's breaks started overheating right after the start of the session. It was fixed in about half an hour, and the Mexcian could continue his session.
Other than that, there was no major news from the first two hours of the second testing day. Drivers just put in as many laps as possible to complete their testing plans with various car setups.
However, everyone's plans got interrupted by the red flag triggered 2 hours and 10 minutes into the session. It was triggered after a piece of curb on entry into turn 11 broke off.
First,
Lewis Hamilton the broken piece with his right tire, and later,
Charles Leclerc ran over it as he tried to use as much of a curb as possible to carry his speed into the left-hand corner.
At the moment of posting this article, the curbs are being inspected, and drivers are out of their cars, which suggests the session will be paused for a while.
Curb fixing is not something that can be usually done within five minutes. The morning session was scheduled to run until 11:00 GMT. It is unclear whether teams will be given the time they are lost because of the red flag.
All F1 teams have packed schedules with busy plans, and this might cause a bit of a problem for some. RB driver
Yuki Tsunoda completed the most laps until the red flag was triggered - 40.
The team that completed the lowest amount of laps was Red Bull with Perez because of the technical issue that the team encountered at the beginning of the session.
UPDATE:
The morning session was canceled an hour before the end of the session for an earlier lunch break. The afternoon session will be started an hour earlier.
