FIA released a statement concluding its investigation against
Mercedes team principal
Toto Wolff and F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff.
FIA's initiated investigation against Toto and Susie Wolff got many surprised and outraged responses on social media from fans, F1 teams, and Susie Wolff herself.
Not long after, all the F1 teams posted an identical message reading none of them "
made any complaint to the FIA regarding the allegation of information of a confidential nature", FIA ended its investigation.
The organization put out a statement claiming FOM's (Formula One Management) system is robust enough to prevent such unauthorized disclosure of information.
"Following a review of Formula 1 Management's F1 code of conduct and F1 conflict of interest policy, and confirmation that appropriate protective measures are in place to mitigate any potential conflicts, the FIA is satisfied that FOM's compliance management system is robust enough to prevent any unauthorised disclosure of confidential information."
All Mercedes, Toto, and Susie Wolff could not apparently redress for having their reputation publicly damaged as a result of FIA's actions. The organization also stated:
"The FIA can confirm that there is no ongoing investigation in terms of ethical or disciplinary inquiries involving any individual."
Mercedes spokesperson said his team took note of the statement but did not comment any further, and as opposed to the initial FIA's statement about the launch of the investigation, the new statement did not get any response from Formula 1.
FIA's statement backed its actions, which might be questioned in the near future, by saying it is the organization's job to maintain the integrity of global motorsport.
"As the regulator, the FIA has a duty to maintain the integrity of global motorsport. The FIA reaffirms its commitment to integrity and fairness
