Racing Bulls announced Isack Hadjar would be
promoted from F2 to race alongside
Yuki Tsunoda.

Ferrari's academy since he was a junior. After racing for one season in

Max Verstappen and
Liam Lawson are products of
Red Bull's junior program. While the four-time World Champion has already
proved himself, Liam Lawson is looking to show what he's got, racing for one of the top F1 teams for the
first time.
The New Zealander
hasn't yet completed an entire season in F1 before 2025, although he raced both in 2023 (five races for injured
Daniel Ricciardo) and in 2024 (six races after
permanently replacing departing Ricciardo).

George Russell takes on the role of team leader that Lewis Hamilton previously held in Mercedes. In 2025, the Briton is joined by prodigy Kimi Antonelli.
Both drivers have previously been part of the Mercedes Academy. While Russell already achieved some success with Mercedes before 2025—three victories and 14 podiums—Antonelli is completely new to the team.

In 2024,
Alpine and
Esteban Ocon mutually decided to
part ways, and the French team promoted
Jack Doohan, one of the drivers from their
academy.
Doohan has been waiting for his chance for a long time. In 2023 and 2024, he was Alpine's reserve driver. The Australian raced in F1 for the first time at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as Ocon departed Alpine one race before the end of the season.
In 2025, Doohan partners with
Pierre Gasly, who helped Alpine secure
sixth place in the Constructors' Championship at the end of the previous year.

Haas is one of two F1 teams that
changed their driver lineup entirely. Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman replace previous drivers
Nico Hulkenberg and
Kevin Magnussen.
Ocon has previously raced for Alpine and decided he needed a change. Oliver Bearman is part of Ferrari's driver academy and has previously raced in Formula 2.
The British driver didn't have the best season in F2 in 2024. However, he was promoted to F1 on three occasions and showed some promising performances, scoring points for both Ferrari and Haas.
Esteban Ocon, who has scored multiple podiums and one victory in his career, is a great benchmark for the youngster who tries to impress everyone in 2025.

Racing Bulls is officially the new name of the team that was referred to as VCARB or RB in 2024. The team also has one new driver in their lineup.
After Sergio Perez from Red Bull announced he would be taking a break from racing, Liam Lawson was promoted to the A team, and Isack Hadjar is coming in to fill his empty seat.
Isack Hadjar chose number 6 for his first season in Formula 1. This number was previously used by
Nico Rosberg and Nicholas Latifi.
Along with Liam Lawson, Tsunoda was the strongest candidate for promotion to Red Bull. The Japanese driver ultimately didn't get it, which means he is staying with Racing Bulls, at least for 2025.

Alex Albon has been with
Williams Racing for
three seasons since 2022. In 2025, he has a new but
strong and more
experienced teammate,
Carlos Sainz.
Carlos Sainz used to drive for Ferrari, but the Italian team decided to replace him with the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes after the end of 2024.
Together, Albon and Sainz try and lift the Williams from the bottom of the Constructors' Championship table, although they might need more time before Williams can start competing for podiums again.

Nico Hulkenberg decided to leave Haas after the end of 2024 to join Sauber / Stake. Although the Swiss-based F1 team was
the worst in 2024, there is a promise of improvement as it will transition to
Audi in 2026.
The only problem is that the two Sauber drivers first need to fight through 2025. Hulkenberg is joined by a very promising rookie - Gabriel Bortoleto, who won F3 and F2 in two consecutive seasons (2023 and 2024) before being promoted to F1.
