Aston Martin Formula One team extended its relationship with a key partner that has been with the team since 2022.
Aston Martin has been part of Formula One since the 2021 season. Before the team's rebranding, it was known as Racing Point, and before that, Force India.
The rebranding of Racing Point started a new chapter for the team. The collaboration with Aston Martin plays a significant role in the team's success, and in 2022, the team found a new title sponsor, Aramco.
Aramco, officially Saudi Arabian Oil Group, is a Saudi Arabian state-owned oil petroleum and natural gas company. It is also the second-largest company in the world by revenue.
Aston Martin's official statement described the significance of the relationship with Aramco as they expect the company to "provide best-in-class technology to deliver advanced fuels and lubricants to the team, alongside the team’s new works power unit engine partnership with Honda."
Ever since the beginning of its relationship with Aramco, Aston Martin made a great step forward in terms of performance, and the team achieved eight podiums throughout the 2023 season. The team's owner, Lawrence Stroll said about the collaboration:
"We are very proud to continue and strengthen our successful partnership with Aramco. We already enjoy an important strategic relationship and their support as our title partner for the next five years is a clear demonstration of our shared ambition."
Aston Martin team made a deal with Honda to supply the Power Units for the team from 2026 onwards. Stroll suggested the collaboration between Aston Martin, Honda, and Aramco will benefit the F1 team greatly.
"We are working together on several key initiatives, including the development of advanced fuels for 2026, when we begin our Honda works power unit partnership."
The British team made a significant development step forward ahead of the season 2023, do you think it is possible for Aston Martin to compete for the Championship within the next few seasons?
