Formula One driver Alex Albon reflected on a successful season, calling 2023 his "strongest year in F1."
Alex Albon finished the 2023 season with an incredible 27 points in 13th place in the Drivers' Championship, securing seventh place in the Constructors' Championship for his team.
The Williams driver has truly had an amazing season as he outperformed his teammate 22 to 0 in Qualifying head-to-head, and 15-0 in Grand Prix head-to-head if we discount the retirements of both drivers.
Albon was recently asked to reflect on his performance, and he said that 2023 was a very strong season. As reported by Motorsport.com, he stated:
"I'm very proud of my performance. I'm not the most arrogant person I would say, but I will give myself credit, I feel like I've had a very strong season."
While Albon's teammate only scored one point throughout the whole season, the 27-year-old scored 27 out of 28, and Williams' success can be attributed mainly to him. Albon continued:
"I felt like most of my races haven't been simple, there have been races where we've been fighting, fighting, fighting the whole time."
The performances of the Williams driver got recognized up and down the paddock, and he has been speculated to be one of the potential replacement alternatives for Sergio Perez in Red Bull Racing.
While it was only speculation, the Red Bull team principal himself said Albon became "hot property again." Albon concluded he enjoyed the 2023 and he suggested it has been his strongest season ever.
"But I enjoy it. I feel that's the environment that I thrive in. For me, it's been my strongest year in F1. That connection that I have with the team has really helped that. I feel like that's where we've been able to execute everything we've done so well."
