The third practice session ahead of the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying was won by Mercedes driver George Russell.
While the FP2 session was packed with action and incidents, the third practice session was a bit calmer, with multiple drivers going for qualifying simulation laps.
Mercedes's George Russell showed Mercedes might be a real contender for the qualification and race win this weekend when he put his car in P1 for the second time in three practice sessions.
Mercedes's main competitor for the second place in the Championship, Ferrari, scored 5th place with Charles Leclerc and 20th place with Carlos Sainz.
McLaren and Williams will be the teams to watch out for in Qualifying later today as both showed very decent pace with their drivers Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Alex Albon, and Logan Sargeant.
The last race of the season at Yas Marina circuit will be the decider in battles for the second and the fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.
From the three practice sessions that we saw, it seems like at least four teams in the lead are pretty even in their pace. F1 fans can, therefore, look forward to a very exciting qualification and race in Abu Dhabi.
