Andreas Seidl is a German motorsport engineer, manager, former team principal of McLaren, and currently chief executive officer (CEO) of Sauber Motorsport - Alfa Romeo F1 Team competing in the 2023 Formula One Championship.

Andreas Seidl was born on January 6, 1975, in Passau, West Germany. Like multiple prominent figures in F1, Seidl graduated in mechanical engineering (Technical University of Munich).
The German began his career in the German Formula One racing team BMW between 2000 and 2009. Throughout this period, Seidl contributed to the team's multiple victories and podiums while the team finished multiple times as 2nd and 3rd in the Constructors’ Championship.
After the 2009 season, BMW withdrew from Formula One, and Seidl transitioned into BMW's Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) team in a managerial position. Seidl played an essential role in helping the team win the 2012 Constructers' and Drivers' Championship.
In 2013, Seidl became director of race operations in Porshe LMP1, and in 2014, he was promoted to team principal. The team achieved remarkable success in the LMP1 category. Throughout seasons 2015, 2016, and 2017, Porsche consecutively secured Manufacturers’ and Constructors' Championships in the LMP1 Category.
The team also achieved three consecutive victories during these three seasons at 24 Hours of Le Mans. Thanks to his success, Seidl was appointed team principal at McLaren Formula One team before the 2019 season.
Consequently, McLaren saw improved performance and results, achieving its first podium in five years during the Brazilian Grand Prix and ending the 2019 season in fourth place in the Constructor's Championship - a significant improvement from ninth and sixth place in previous seasons.
During his four seasons at McLaren, Seidl played an instrumental role in the team, securing ten podiums and its first victory in 9 years since 2012. In December 2012, it was announced Andreas Seidl would be leaving the McLaren team to join Sauber Motorsport in the position of CEO.
