Born on November 13, 1999, to Cisca Wauman (Belgian) and Adam Norris (British)- a very successful businessman, Lando Norris is half Belgian and half Brit. He is the second of four siblings, with two younger sisters, Flo and Cisca, and an older brother, Oliver.
Starting his karting career at the age of seven, over the course of a few years, Lando Norris showcased his talent-winning several karting championships, including the CIK FIA European Championship. He became the youngest karting world champion in 2014.
Moving up in his career, Norris won a Rookie Cup in the Ginetta Junior Championship, MSA Formula Championship (now known as the British F4 Championship), Toyota Racing Series, Renault 2.0 Eurocup, and Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup.
Lando Norris also won the 2017 Formula 3 Championship. That same year, Lando Norris made his debut in FIA Formula 2. In 2018, Lando competed full-time in F2, eventually finishing 2nd place in the championship in front of his fellow F1 competitor Alex Albon, and behind his other fellow F1 competitor George Russell.
In 2019, Lando Norris signed his first Formula 1 contract to drive for McLaren. In his rookie F1 season, Lando scored multiple point finishes and out-qualified his older, more experienced teammate Carlos Sainz in 11 out of 21 races of the season, proving his potential.
Signing another contract with McLaren in 2020, he achieved his first podium finish at the Austrian Grand Prix and became the third youngest driver ever to stand on the podium. Lando Norris continued proving his incredible talent and racing skills as he signed another multi-year with McLaren until 2025.
Norris's first F1 race victory came during the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. During the same season, he also added victories at the Dutch and the Singapore Grand Prix—both with incredible margins of over 20 seconds ahead of the driver in second place.
Before the end of the 2024 season, the McLaren Racing driver added 3 more victories. Although he looked like a serious contender for the Drivers' Championship title at one point, he ultimately finished the season second behind Max Verstappen.
However, in 2024, Norris helped McLaren achieve something the team had been waiting for for 26 years - the Constructors' Championship title.
