Four-time F1 World Champion
Sebastian Vettel recently responded to questions in relation to his future in Formula One.
Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement from Formula One after the 2022 season at
Aston Martin. The four-time world Champion famously created his first social media account in 2022, only to announce his retirement in the first post which you can see on his Instagram until today.
Ever since his retirement, there have been numerous speculations about his return to Formula One. For example, Vettel was rumored to return as a replacement for injured
Lance Stroll at the beginning of the 2023 season, which, in the end, did not happen.
Vettel recently appeared in the seat of a
Red Bull car (RB7) during a special event at Nurburgring related to his mission, Race Without Trace, where his car ran on sustainable fuel. The 36-year-old recently responded to F1 comeback rumors in an interview for the German Press Agency.
"You can never rule out something like that, but at some point, the time will be over. My age isn’t the issue and it was my decision to draw the line. But I didn’t draw it just to cancel it a year later."
Unfortunately, Vettel does not seem to be planning a return to the seat of a Formula One car as he hinted he does not want to cancel his decision a year later. Now, the German has more time to spend with his family and enjoy other passions.
"I have the privilege of spending more time with my family and my children, that is a priority. Just as I have rediscovered the world in recent years, Formula 1, no matter how big it may be, always has become smaller."
While Vettel might not be planning to return to a seat of a Formula One car, many fans still remain hopeful he might return to the world of Formula One perhaps in a managerial position.
