Max Verstappen suggested he identified what he had done wrong in Baku as he had previewed the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix.
Red Bull Racing F1 driver Max Verstappen finished fifth in the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the race preceding the 18th round of the season at Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore.
The race in Singapore is going to be a challenge for the triple World Champion and his team, who come to this race weekend after seven Grand Prix races without a victory.
What's more, this track hasn't historically suited Red Bull. Even during the most dominant season in the history of F1 (which Red Bull recorded in 2023), the Austrian team didn't manage to win in Singapore.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old focuses on what he can improve in the present, and he revealed that he has identified what slowed him down in Baku. As quoted by his own website, Verstappen said:
"We have learnt from what we did wrong last week in Baku and can try a few things differently this week in Singapore."

"Marina Bay is a cool circuit, but we do expect this to be a bit more of a challenge, as it has been historically. The race is usually quite close here and obviously very hot and humid."
Red Bull Racing F1 team introduced a new floor on their car during the race weekend in Azerbaijan, and Verstappen suggests it was a step forward.
"The changes that we initially made in Baku were positive and we were heading in the right direction. We think we know what we can do better and of course need to make sure that we are optimising the set up."
The new floor certainly helped Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez, who could have finished on the podium in Baku had it not been for the "disaster" collision with Carlos Sainz on the penultimate lap of the race. The Dutchman concluded:
"It will be important to keep the car in control a bit more in the slow speed so it doesn't jump around and this should hopefully help us a lot."
"Finally, we are continuing to fight for the championship: we win and lose as a team and are going to keep pushing and try and come back stronger."
