Red Bull's motorsport advisory Helmut Marko praised Yuki Tsunoda after scoring a point for his team during the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix.
The RB driver Yuki Tsunoda has been outperforming his teammate Daniel Ricciardo ever since the second race of the season, and so far, he is the only one who has scored points for his team.
The Japanese driver has finished in the top 10 twice. The first time was in Australia during the third round of the season, when he finished in P7 and scored six points for his team.
The second time the 23-year-old scored a top-ten finish was in Japan, as he showed an incredible performance in front of his home crowd at Suzuka Circuit with P10 and one more point for his team.
RB currently stands sixth in the Championship, with all credits going to Tsunoda. His qualifying pace in the last three weekends was incredible, and as he added more consistency, the race results followed. As reported by Sky Sports Germany, Helmut Marko said about the RB driver:

"There have been four races and Yuki has brought the car into Q3 three times. He is consistent, and the mistakes are a thing of the past. His impulsiveness on the radio is also gone."

Even though Tsunoda has clearly been the better one out of the RB duo, it was reported ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix that the 80-year-old just refuses to consider the 23-year-old driver for the seat in Red Bull.
On the other hand, performances like what he's showing at the moment should comfortably secure Tsunoda or at least another contract with RB.
The driver market is in full swing, but Marko refuses to give in to the pressure and wants to delay decisions about driver lineups for both of his teams for as long as possible. He added:

"He has really improved, but it's April, and we have many races left. We will look at the driver situation when the summer break comes. We want to observe closely and make the right decision. That will surely take until summer."
