Alpine Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly announced a new business deal ahead of the 2024 Australian Grand Prix.

It is quite common for F1 drivers to invest their money in various businesses. Valtteri Bottas, for example, is working on his own Gin, owns a coffee roastery, and is part owner of an Ice Hockey team- Lahti Pelicans.

Lewis Hamilton also invested (amongst many other things) in a sports team when he became a partial owner of the Denver Broncos NFL team, and Max Verstappen owns his own E-Sports team, Team Redline, and is working on Racing Team - Verstappen.com Racing.

The latest F1 driver to join the trend of investing in sports teams is Pierre Gasly, who has become a third partner in FC Versailles.

FC Versailles competes in the third French football league. Gasly's investment goal is to help the team become fully professional, develop, and progress into the second or even the first league.

With the famous F1 driver onboard, the team will benefit from international exposure. The president of FC Versailles, Alexandre Mulliez said:

"Pierre brings a strong complement to Fabien and myself. I am convinced that our collaboration will be fruitful. As a long-time fan of F1, I am lucky to have Pierre by our side to achieve all our goals."

Pierre Gasly is a massive fan of football. Not many people know this, but the Frenchman competes in Formula 1 with number 10 because his favorite football player, Zinedine Zidane, used to play with this number for the French National team. Gasly said:

"I am delighted to get involved with FC Versailles because I have always wanted to get involved in professional football."
"With Alexandre & Fabien [Lazare], we share values, ambition and a keen competitive spirit which will allow us to positively develop the club. This is the start of a very beautiful story. Go Versailles!"
