Lewis Hamilton's father, Anthony Hamilton, recently addressed claims from his son, who said he kept the Ferrari deal secret from everyone, including his family.
The announcement of the seven-time World Champion's deal with Ferrari was a huge surprise, partly because it was kept very secret.
There were no prior rumors a day earlier. The media only found out about the contract between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari on the day of the announcement.
The 39-year-old later suggested that he didn't tell anyone about the deal, not even his family, until the day of the announcement. As reported by Planet F1, Hamilton's father was approached with the question about whether he really wasn't told about the talks with Ferrari, and he said:

"Kind of, yes. The thing is, it's his business. I always have an inkling that I know what's going on, but it's his deal and it was his decision."

Asked whether it was also his dream to see his son in the red overall driving for the prancing horse, Hamulton Sr responded: "Yes, part of my dream, part of his dream."

"You know, it's one of those things that when you're a young kid, you always dream of racing for Ferrari. And we love all of the past teams, McLaren and Mercedes, but it's the ultimate dream to be in a red car."

Sebastian Vettel once said: "Everyone is a Ferrari fan. Even if they say they are not, they are a Ferrari Fans." This proved to be the case with Hamilton as well.
The Mercedes driver is set to switch to Ferrari at the end of the season 2024 with a multi-year contract. This means we should see Hamilton in the red overall, at least until the end of 2026.
