Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton shared he would like to race Red Bull's Max Verstappen in equal machinery amid Red Bull seat alleged talks speculations.
The seven-time World Champion has been accused of trying to get into contact with Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner over the possibility of driving for Red Bull.
Lewis Hamilton dismissed everything, saying he had not spoken to Horner for a very long time. Moreover, he added he also asked his whole team, which declined to have contacted the Red Bull's team principal.
On the other hand, Hamilton stated he would like to race against Max Verstappen. As reported by RacingNews365, the Mercedes driver told the press:
"I'd be more than happy to race against Max in the same car, that'd be wonderful. I don't think he wants me to be his team-mate."
While Hamilton thinks Verstappen would not want him as his teammate, the Dutchman said he wouldn't mind being teammates with the seven-time World Champion.
The seven-time World Champion then reiterated he did not try to reach out to Red Bull, saying: "I checked with everyone on the team, and no one's talking to them. But they have tried to reach out to us."
While both Horner and Hamilton blame each other for reaching out, it is not uncommon for neither drivers nor team principals to reach out to other teams to see what their options are. Hamilton added:
"I basically had picked up my old phone, which I just found at home that had my old number on it and switched it on. And then obviously hundreds of messages came through, and I realized there was one from Christian to get together and have a chat at the end of the season."
While we might not find out who reached out to whom, it seems like we won't see Lewis Hamilton in Red Bull in the near future. Would you like to see Hamilton race alongside Verstappen in the same team?
