Max Verstappen achieved Grand Prix win number four this season during the fifth round at Shanghai International Circuit.
The Sunday race was off to a smooth start, with zero collisions between the drivers going into the first corner. Fernando Alonso had a great start and managed to get ahead of Sergio Perez around the outside.
However, it was clear to the Spaniard he would not be able to retain his position as the Mexican driver inevitably came back through.
The race was then pretty static until Valtteri Bottas stopped on the side of the track due to engine failure, which triggered the safety car on lap 20.
There was a bit of chaos just before the race was restarted, as Fernando Alonso locked up going into turn 14, causing a chain reaction behind him as some of the drivers couldn't break fast enough.
Lance Stroll ran into the back of Daniel Ricciardo and destroyed the Honey Badger's diffusor and his own front wing. Ricciardo had to retire his car, and the Canadian driver received a 10-second penalty.
Just a lap later, there was another incident, this time between Kevin Magnussen and another RB driver, Yuki Tsunoda. The Haas driver made a mistake and hit the Japanese driver's rear wheel on the exit of turn number 6.
Tsunoda had to stop on the side of the track to retire his car, which triggered another safety car, and Magnussen received a ten-second penalty.
The two safety cars gave a bit of help to Lando Norris, who was able to finish ahead of Sergio Perez in the end after starting from P4.
The triple World Champion showed another flawless performance. Starting from pole, he crossed the finish line in P1, 13.7 seconds ahead of Norris in P2 and 19.1 seconds ahead of Perez in P3.
