Bruno Famin

Bruno Famin is a French automotive engineer, the Vicepresident of Alpine Motorsport, and the current interim Team Principal of the Alpine F1 Team in the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.

Bruno Famin was born in January 1962 in Belfort, France - close to Germany and Switzerland borders. Famin has an engineering degree from the National School of Arts and Crafts. After his studies at Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs, Famin joined Peugeot Talbot Sport in 1989.
Being part of the customer racing department, Bruno Famin personally worked on 905 Spider as well as 106 GRA as a development engineer. In 2005, he became the Technical Director of Peugeot Sport.
Some of the tasks of the Technical Director include Vehicle Development, Research and innovation, Team Management, Strategy, and planning. This experience laid an invaluable foundation for his later career progress.
In 2012, Bruno Famin took the role of Director of the company. He was an essential part of the success Peugeot achieved during the years 2009 and 2013. In 2009, Peugeot won the 24 Hours of Le Mans by securing a one-two finish and breaking Audi's consecutive winning streak.
The victory marked Peugeot’s third Le Mans victory, including after years 1992 and 1993. In 2013, Famin helped Peugeot achieve a record-breaking Pikes Peak victory with driver Sebastien Loeb.
Bruno Famin also led the team to winning the Dakar Rally in between years 2016 and 2018, as well as the 2015 World Rallycross Championship. In 2019, Famin became Director of Operations at Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
In July 2023, Alpine declared Bruno Famin as the new Vice President, of Alpine Motorsports and member of Alpine Management Committee. He leads Alpine in all motorsports disciplines. After Otmar Szafnauer departed from Alpine, Bruno Famin stepped in as the Interim Team Principal in Alpine's Formula One Team.
