Button moved through multiple junior series before joining Formula One. In 1998, he won both the British Formula Ford Championship and Formula Ford Festival with eight victories and 13 poles in total.

In 1999, Button mainly competed in the British Formula 3 Championship, winning three races and seven podiums. The Brit got his ticket into Formula One in 2000 when he signed a contract with Williams Racing.

Button spent seasons 2001-2003 at Mild Seven Benetton Renault, and in 2003, he moved to the British American Racing (BAR). Throughout his seasons at BAR, button managed to finish third in the Driver’s championship in 2004 and record his first race victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2006.

In 2006, British American Racing was renamed to Honda Racing. However, the team withdrew from the sport in 2008, and Button had to move to a different team for the following season. At the beginning of 2009, Ros Brawn bought the Honda team, named it Brawn GP, and recruited Jenson Button.

Following was the most successful Formula One season in Button’s career when he won 6 races, won the Drivers' Championship, and helped the team also achieve the Constructor’s Championship title.

In the years 2010-2017, Button raced for McLaren, achieving more wins and podiums, and at the end of 2017, he retired from his successful Formula One career.
