Research analyst Barton Crockett has declared Red Bull Racing F1 driver Max Verstappen the biggest risk to the business.
Max Verstappen has dominated the Formula One championship for the past two years. The fastest car on the grid in the hands of an astonishingly consistent Dutchman is a combination that terrorizes all remaining F1 teams.
The Dutchman recently appeared on the cover of TIME Magazine, which followed the Dutchman around during the 2023 United States Grand Prix and interviewed people around him.
The magazine focused on the dominance of the World Champion, who has won his third consecutive title this season and keeps breaking numerous records set by previous Champions.
Such dominance makes the sport boring for the new generation of F1 fans who started watching Formula One because of the popular Netflix series "Drive to Survive."
Barton Crockett, senior research analyst for Rosenblatt Securities who covers Liberty Media, said: "As great as Verstappen is, right now, he looks like the biggest risk to the business."
The next upcoming race in Las Vegas was supposed to be a huge show. However, the Championship winner has already decided a few races ago, and some say the race will miss a key ingredient- the drama.
Verstappen thinks his dominance is similar to the one of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. The Dutchman thinks the team that is executing with such perfection should be appreciated.
"The NBA survived when the Chicago Bulls were dominating. At the time, or even afterwards, people are like, ‘Oh, that was amazing.’ If you are a real fan of the sport, you should be able to appreciate a team doing very well.'"
The slight difference is that the Chicago Bulls did not sweep all the remaining teams in such a dominant way as Verstappen did in Formula One.
On the other hand, real F1 fans who appreciate the sport for what it is do not hate Verstappen but rather admire the combination of Red Bull's flawless execution and unbelievable driving skills of the Dutchman.
