Aston Martin's technical director Dan Fallows asserted Red Bull is definitely beatable after his team's recent car launch - AMR24.
Aston Martin launched their car on the 12th of February. The launch was rather simple and consisted of sharing a pre-recorded online video of the AMR24's 3D render.
What was more important was that the team had a shakedown at Silverstone shortly after that with the new car already on track. Aston Martin team members' attitude throughout all the interviews showed a lot of confidence in the new car.
The technical director of the British team, Dan Fallows, explained that while all the teams are talking about significant changes, it is now rather down to details.
"The thing is we're really into finding lap times now from things that are really smaller details. They're kind of more detailed elements of the floor and other parts of the car."
So, while many teams will say they have worked and changed a lot, it might not be as visible in the eyes of casual fans. Regarding setting goals, the technical director was not afraid to hint that Red Bull is the target.
"But there's still a lot of lap time to come, and we take the approach that Red Bull are absolutely beatable. That's what we're chasing after – we're focusing on them. And that's what we're aiming for."
Red Bull had a secret shakedown and filming day at Silverstone Circuit yesterday. While none of the members of the team spoke to the media directly, the Austrian team is set to unveil their car tomorrow.
Aston Martin's technical director also asserted the grid might be so close that Red Bull might not even be the fastest team anymore. He added:
"We talk about Red Bull because, obviously, they are the benchmark in terms of performance, but really whoever's the fastest car is the focus for us. And that's what we were looking at."
